HVCID is organising Halloween in the Village again this year. Please meet at Hampstead Park to enter the fancy dress competition. Great prizes for the best costumes. You can then grab a map for the family and head off to trick or treat. We will have some surprises hidden in the park as well.

If you are keen to allow the kids to stop past your house for a treat, please will you send Jenni your address so we can add you to our map. You can either message her on 081 412 6109 or e-mail ..">This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. You can expect the kids from 6.15 pm. This is becoming such a popular event and we would love more residents to get involved.

Koning Lear

This is a reimagining by acclaimed Flemish author Tom Lanoye of Shakespeare’s King Lear. Elizabeth Lear has singlehandedly grown her small business in to a global enterprise. Once she announces that her empire will be divided amongst her sons, she demands that they pledge their love and allegiance to her. Her youngest and most favoured son refuses with disastrous consequences. This is a tale of an elderly business woman losing touch with reality, trying to retain some measure of control and clinging desperately to the legacy she has built. This epic tale brought to you by the cream of the South African stage explores today’s business milieu where integrity and loyalty are in scant supply.

The production received eight KKNK Kanna Awards including best production, best debut production, best actress (Antoinette Kellermann), best supporting actress (Anna-Mart van der Merwe), best supporting actor (Edwin van der Walt), best director (Marthinus Basson), best design (Marthinus Basson) and best literary contribution (Antjie Krog).
